When we hear about Africa in the news or in the newspapers, all they talk about is the war, starvation and misery. When I came to Europe, nobody could understand why I left for this uncertain continent. They asked me, what is there? I answered - everything.
The media does not mention the actual people, the laughter and all the fun that is going on. It almost feels as if they don't want us to know. They want to hide the truth. They want to scare us and they don't want us to know.
Did your TV ever tell you that a stranger can welcome you into their house, give you his/her last piece of food, last wata and give you his bed, just to make sure that you feel welcomed? You can stay for as long as you want, nobody would ever kick you out.
Did they write in the newspapers how an African person would leave all his/her responsibilities, just to help you? How they value a true friend? How they commit to the family? How warmhearted, kind and giving they are?
Did they tell you, that when we dance, we stamp so hard that the earth shakes to our rhythm? Did they also mention that Europe will always try to govern, but Africa will forever rule.
We laugh and joke about everything, about the way you eat, your dress, your hair, your talk, it is so much fun, that you can never stop. But they would never tell you that. They don't want you to know, they don't want you to love, they don't want you to be happy.
They prefer that you follow their orders just like a robot, don't think too much, the computer will do everything for you. Don't use your instincts, follow the machines. We are so developed that the machines can easily replace us. We are so much smarter than everybody else, that we even are killing ourselves. We are so brilliant and wise, that we cannot see our own death. We are laughing at everybody else, but in fact they all are laughing at us.
In Sweden, most of the things are run by the computers. You can barely survive in this society, if you don't have a computer with an internet connection. To get your medication at the pharmacy, your doctor needs to send the receipt through the internet. You schedule most of the appointments, on the internet and the doctors don't keep any files in their offices anymore, everythings is programmed on the net. When you are buying the most simple services, usually a machine is serving you. In some private schools the learning is made with a computer. They don't use books, they don't write in their notebooks, nor on the white board. Watching the computer screen from morning till night, makes them pale and sick. If you make a passport with the name Elvis Prestley, the machine lets you pass through the immigration, it is so smart that it doesn't know that the real Elvis is dead. If one day the light would go off or the internet would be off, the society would collapse and nothing would function. It is very scary, it makes us very vulnerable and open for threat. It makes us very unsocial, we forget our human instincts and we loose our most basic skills. We think that we are so developed, when in fact we become more primitive for each day that goes. We become enslaved by the machines.
